Leatherwood Honey is light to pale amber in colour and has distinctive and strong floral aromas. To taste, it has a bold flavour with hints of spice and is slightly dry with a long, lingering aftertaste. This is a famous and polarising Australian honey that some love (and others most definitely do not). Leatherwood will crystallise over time with a fine, even crystal.
Leatherwood Honey is one of the world’s most famous honeys. Try it and see what the fuss is all about.

Leatherwood (Eucryphia lucida) is a tree that generally grows between two and ten metres but can be taller when found in rainforest conditions, growing up to 30 metres in height. Leatherwood is a prized and sought after honey due to its scarcity and unique flavour.
The flavours of single varietal honey reflect a plant source and its unique flowers, pollen and nectar. Our single varietal honeys are a true reflection of nature with each plant species creating distinctly different colours, tastes and textures of honey.
“Our aim is to educate people on the diversity of uses for honey and the fact 65% of Australia’s agricultural produce is pollinated by honeybees. This reveals just how important they truly are to our food security.”
