Crafted using native Red Stringy Bark eucalypt timber.
Red Stringy Bark (Eucalyptus macrorhyncha) – a renowned honey producing tree in the undulatiing areas of the North East of Victoria. Preferring well drained , poor to moderately fertile soil will tolerate frost and hot dry conditions. This usually small to medium sized tree produces a deliciously strong aromatic honey. Its timber is pale red/pinkish brown in appearance.
Uniquely handcrafted by local artisan Doug McGregor in the North East of Victoria. All wood is from fallen trees, timber is milled and air dried on his property in the Warby Ranges.
“Our aim is to educate people on the diversity of uses for honey and the fact 65% of Australia’s agricultural produce is pollinated by honeybees. This reveals just how important they truly are to our food security.”
