The Great Honey Recipe Collection

Winner: Rachel Francese

This recipe was one of three winners from The Great Honey Recipe Collection, a competition where we invited our community to share their favourite honey recipes and the stories behind them. Rachel’s Orange Blossom Honey Churros were chosen for the way a single varietal honey replaces sugar entirely, bringing natural sweetness and a fruity twist to the classic. It’s also a recipe steeped in family tradition, a nostalgic childhood favourite reimagined with pure Australian honey.

“My mum’s home-made traditional churros were a childhood favourite, and with five siblings we were always so excited when she made them. This recipe is my way of keeping that tradition alive with a modern twist. Using Beechworth Orange Blossom Honey to add natural sweetness and a bright citrus flavour. Creating a lighter, fruitier version that celebrates Australian honey while keeping the heart of the family recipe.” – Rachel
