Warby Ranges, Victoria
Artisans Doug McGregor and Rachel Hogan are a father and daughter team who specialise in handcrafted timber products. Our range of Beechworth Honey wooden boards have been uniquely crafted by Doug and Rachel in North East Victoria. All wood is from fallen trees and the timber is milled and air dried on Doug’s property in the Warby Ranges.
The Timber
Crafted using native Red Stringy Bark eucalypt timber.
Red Stringy Bark (Eucalyptus macrorhyncha)
A renowned honey producing tree in the undulatiing areas of the North East of Victoria. Preferring well drained, poor to moderately fertile soil will tolerate frost and hot dry conditions. This usually small to medium sized tree produces a deliciously strong aromatic honey. It’s timber is pale red/pinkish brown in appearance.
