A Love Letter from Jodie

Hey there, little bee, if only we could speak.

We’ve grown side by side, our stories strangely different, yet deeply entwined.

I was raised among the eucalypts, playing by the creeks. You flew above, dancing between blossoms, your sisters working tirelessly in the sky. We’ve travelled together, me a bee-keeper in search of your next essential flower, but really, I just follow where you lead.

When I’m close to you, I’m captivated. Your grace, your purpose, your power in such a small body, it all leaves me in awe. First, I fell in love with your honey. Then I understood, your real miracle is everything you quietly make possible. You pollinate, you nourish, you sustain. Without you, everything falls apart.

You give me courage. My pledge is to speak your truth, to honour your work, to help others pause, reflect, and act. Because in their hands, your wings, and your future rest.

So stay strong, little bee. I will too. Let’s keep believing that together we can turn the tide. That one day soon, there’ll be towering trees, blooming blossoms, and buzzing bees everywhere.

I can’t wait to see you again, back among the eucalypts, and tell you just how far we’ve come. Keep passing on your miracles to your younger sisters, and I will always strive to honour the work you do.
