BUZZ!

During BUZZ!, students will:

• Experience a live hive
• Understand that bees pollinate a large proportion of the food we eat
• Understand that we rely on bees for crop production
• Learn about the importance of bees for our food security
• Gain knowledge about honeybee and native bee species and their different needs for survival
• Uncover ways to support bees and pollination
• Gain an emerging understanding of how to create a ‘bee friendly’ environment
• Explore the biology of a honey bee
• Acquire an understanding about how honey is made
• Experience a tasting of 100% Australian honey and engage in a discussion about how the plants affect flavour profile

Year 2

Capacity & Student Numbers

Bee School sessions are capped at 30 students. If you require a session with greater numbers, please contact us and we will do our best to accommodate your group.

Special Needs & Allergies

It is the responsibility of the School/Event Coordinator to advise Bee School educators if any students have any special needs or allergies. Bee School can not guarantee a nut-free environment and also houses a live hive.

Accessibility

All areas of Bee School are wheelchair accessible, including an accessible toilet.

School Bus Parking

Bus parking is available for drop off and pick up on Camp St out the front of the Bee School gate. Buses cannot park here for the duration of the session.

Booking Information

Bookings can be made through the ‘Book Now’ button under each program. Groups of more than 30 can be organised by submitting an enquiry. For larger groups, we may need to run your session over a longer period of time which may require different costing.
